Cape (127,23)
Graphite, pastel, acrylic board
127 x 21 x 6.6 cm
2026
The work is based on a Superman drawing created by the artist at the age of eight. Only the outline of the cape is extracted and stretched to match the artist’s height at that time, after which it is transferred onto an acrylic plate and multiple plates of the same dimensions are stacked to reach the corresponding body weight. Once quantified through measurement, the material becomes the body of the image(the cape), substituting the child’s body for that of the hero. In the title, the figures “(127, 23)” correspond to the units centimetres and kilograms respectively.
